Well, Wednesday is the start of the Tour de Nebraska. I am nervous to say the least. About what? Ya - the mileage, ya - the hills, ya - my shoulders killing me, ya - the wind and ya - the tent. Oh and maybe, ya - my butt. After the 112 miler a few weeks ago, I realized this is no small feat. Perhaps I'm psyching myself out. Typical behavior for me!
I've done all the techie things I can to do try to calm my fears. I've bought every piece of high-tech equipment. I mapped every day/elevation/mile on Map My Ride, compared it to other stretches I've ridden.
I suppose it has made me feel a little better. But I know it will not be easy. I am worried about my sister. I hope her back holds up. But we are going to go slow and could care less about all the others passing us. I'm sure we won't be last (well, maybe we will!) I will be proud of her if she sticks with it for two days+ ...that will be an incredible accomplishment. We have to at least make it to pie day (Friday!) I am going to ride every last mile if it kills me!
I guess there's nothing left but gittin 'er done. Send the posse if I don't return Sunday!
